2018 PGA Championship Betting Preview & Tips

We tasked Christopher Loader (@LuckyLoaders15) with previewing the 2018 PGA Championship and providing us with 5 players to back at this week’s tournament in Missouri.

2018 PGA Championship Betting Preview & Tips

From a betting perspective, I always find Golf probably one of the best sports for value, especially the Majors when it comes to having a punt. This year I have already bagged 35/1 on Patrick Reed’s win at the Masters and I am hoping to guide you to some profits for the final major of the year.

2018 PGA Championship Top 5 Picks

I will give you my top five selections for the PGA Championship which is to be hosted at Bellerive, Missouri for the second time in the tournaments history. As a punter, I believe it is best to spread your bets for one or two of the leading contenders and include a big price outsider. Also Each Way on multiple places can still give decent returns.

Anyway enough waffling, here are my selections.

Rory Mcilory 14/1 EW (Unibet)

I feel Rory is getting closer and closer to being in the winner’s circle again at the majors. A decent Tied 6th at WGC-Bridgestone and runner up at the Open Championship  shows he comes into the tournament in good shape. A previous PGA Champion who knows how to win in America will be surely near the top of the leaderboard on the final day.

Tiger Woods 25/1 EW (Skybet)

Again the maestro that is Tiger has given many glimpses this year of his former brilliance. He really did have a chance to win the Open at Carnoustie going into the back nine. Even though he has had his problems of the tee he can still be a dangerous player to under estimate and similar to Rory I feel it’s only a matter of time before he can get a step closer to Jack Nicklaus’ major record.

Tommy Fleetwood 28/1 EW (Bet 365)

Tommy Fleetwood is really establishing himself on the world stage with many good performances on the PGA Tour and at the Majors. He as an all-around ability from tee to green and can easily post dangerously low scores to keep him in contention as demonstrated with a 63 last week. It won’t be long surely until he gets his hands on his first major.

Webb Simpson 70/1 EW (Bet 365)

The former 2012 US Open Champion has been playing some good golf this year. He won the so called fifth major The Players at Sawgrass earlier this year. Also as well he has made three consecutive cuts with a fair 12th place at the Open. He surely is EW value to be near the business end on Sunday.

Thorbjorn Olesen 90/1 EW (Unibet)

This young Danish golfer is well known for his promising golfing ability and its now starting to show with results. He looks set to be a member of Europe Ryder Cup team this autumn after his consistent spells on tour. After a Tied 12th Place at the Open and a 3rd place at the WGC Event last week he surely is one of the form contenders going into this week’s PGA Championship with outstanding value in his current best price.
