Angelique Kerber v Serena Williams Betting Preview & Tips
Angelique Kerber faces Serena Williams in the Wimbledon Women’s final on Saturday. Serena is incredibly back in the final just 10 months after giving birth and suffering life-threatening complications. She only dropped one set in her route to the final after all of the top 10 seeds were knocked out early.
Williams is just one win away from matching Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles and is chasing an eight success here.
Kerber has also only dropped one set on her route to the final. The German has regained the form that took her to No1 in the world in 2016.
Head To Head
They have played each other eight times including in the 2016 Wimbledon final when Williams prevailed in straight sets. Serena leads the head to head 6-2.
Serena Williams is unbeaten at Wimbledon since 2014 and has a fearsome game. Her accuracy and power with her serve and groundstrokes is sensational and she can defend and attack on both wings.
Kerber does not have the power but she is a very good defender and mover around the court. In previous year, a Williams win would be a banker but because of her pregnancy and a lack of matches it is a lot harder to call.
Serene Williams hasn’t played anyone at the level of Kerber and that is why I like the price of the match to go to 3 sets at 11/8 with Sky Bet. I think it will be a close match with Serena probably edging it.
