Arsenal v Stoke Betting Preview
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Channel: Sky Sports Premier League
Sunday will see two teams fight for two very different objectives. Arsenal are 8 points behind Chelsea and with it, European football- unless the Europa League is won. Stoke are in the thick of it, and they are now in 19th place, although a victory and a series of results would see them escape the tight battle that’s going on- at least until next week.
Going back to the Europa League, Arsenal do play CSKA Moscow on Thursday, so Wenger will be sure to rotate some key players ahead of the clash with the Russian side in order to maintain maximum fitness. After a bust up with Ibrahim Afellay this past week, there seems to be a tense atmosphere in the Potter’s changing room. Paul Lambert will work with what he’s got, including Shaqiri- who further commented on the situation at the club, mentioning the lack of quality the club has.
All in all, both sides have very different goals for the rest of the season, but the are both equally as desperate to gain as many points as they possibly can, so as to not fall into shame- or the Championship.
Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Sead Kolasinac are doubts.
Charlie Adam starts his three-match ban after his red card against Everton.
Lee Grant is a doubt for the away side.
Ibrahim Afellay has been told to stay away from the first-team for the rest of the season after a training ground bust up.
Potential Arsenal Starting XI: Cech, Bellerín, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Ramsey, Mkhitaryan, Özil, Iwobi, Aubameyang.
Potential Stoke Starting XI: Butland, Johnson Shawcross, Zouma, Stafylidis, Fletcher, Ndiaye, Shaqiri, Allen, Sobhi, Crouch.
