Aston Villa entertain Middlesbrough in a crucial Championship play-off second leg at Villa Park. Villa were 1-0 victors on Saturday night and hold a slender advantage after a first half header from Mile Jedinak.

Middlesbrough were poor in the first leg and barely threatened the Villa goal. Adama Traore was their only threat but he was nullified by Alan Hutton. Traore did not get into enough dangerous areas and was undone by bad decision making. Jack Grealish overshadowed Traore in a battle between the two best attacking players. He was effective with and without possession and affected the game by assisting the winner.

Team News

Daniel Ayala came off in the first leg with a knee injury and could miss the game, giving Tony Pulis a major selection headache. Ahmed Elmohamady is a major doubt for Villa as he also limped off with an injury. James Bree could replace him.

Potential Aston Villa Starting XI: Johnstone, Hutton, Terry, Chester, Bree; Jedinak; Adomah, Grealish, Hourihane, Snodgrass; Grabban

Potential Middlesbrough Starting XI: Randolph; Shotton, Fry, Gibson, Friend; Howson, Clayton, Besic; Traore, Assombalonga, Downing
