As far as big games go, El Clásico is one of the biggest football matches to be played every season. However, this final one of the season is somewhat lacklustre, with Barça already La Liga champions an Real Madrid focusing heavily on their 3rd consecutive Champions League final.

This isn’t to say it won’t be a great game of football, but team choices could be rather different to what they’d normally be for reason mentioned above. Zidane’s line-up could include an inclusion of younger and more inexperienced players in order to preserve his main men ahead of their final.

In stark contrast we have Valverde’s probable decision to field out his strongest team so as to continue their unbeaten run in the league and hopefully achieve an undefeated season. It’s also notable to mention the fact that it’s Andrés Iniesta’s final Clásico, a match where he’ll want to perform to the best of his ability.

Both sides have had slightly weird season’s, albeit positive- and they’ll both want to make sure to end up finishing it as best they can.

Team News

Iniesta had a minor calf injury, but Valverde’s confident he’ll be fit for the game.

Dani Carvajal, Isco and Raphäel Varane are all injured for Zidane’s side.

Potential Barcelona Starting XI: ter Stegen, Roberto, Piqué, Umtiti, Alba, Coutinho, Busquets, Rakitić, Iniesta, Messi, Suárez.

Potential Real Madrid Starting XI: Navas, Vázquez. Nacho, Ramos, Marcelos, Modrić, Casemiro, Kroos, Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema.
