Belgium v Egypt Betting Preview, Odds & Tips
- Date: 6/6/18

- Venue: Stade Roi Baudouin
Belgium head into this friendly off the back of a 0-0 draw against the recent European Champions, Portugal, in a game they should have won. They will be expecting to win here to take confidence into the group stages of the world cup and hopefully pip England to top spot in Group G. Belgium are a national team littered with world talents, players from high quality football teams and some of the best young talent in this year’s world cup. They have the players, but have not glued as a team as of yet, especially not on centre stage. They take up a hefty percentage of premier league players, ranging from Spurs to Manchester United. Yet, the manager still hasn’t got them firing on all cylinders as this team undoubtedly is one of the strongest squads in recent years.
They entertain Egypt at home on Wednesday in a game they will surely be expecting to win, and comfortably. A win for the red-shirted machine here has become even lower odds since Salah’s injury, albeit due to Ramos’s failure to keep his hands to himself, in the Champions League final last weekend. He is their star man, thier Egyptian King, and without them they have no one to rip open a defence, to leave spectators shocked, watching him tear defences apart with his undoubtedly world-class talent in disbelief. The odds are therefore Stacked against the Egyptians who are now as high as 12/1 to win in Belgium. For Egypt, they just need to head into the championships with a good performance here, no embarrassment or mockeries.
Betting in the way of value is hard to find here, so the specials tab on most bookmakers is where you need to be heading. They have scored 3 goals or more in 4 of their last 6 games meaning them to do this again at 11/8 is a good bet.
Egypt are missing their star player in Mo Salah who is hoping he recovers in time for the world cup.
Potential Belgium Starting XI: Courtois, Mounier, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Kompany, Carrasco, Dembélé, De Bruyne, Hazard, Mertens, Lukaku
Potential Egypt Starting XI: El Shenawy, Ibrahim, Samir, Hegazi, Sayed, Hamed, Morsy, Mohsen, Hassan, Sobhi, Bekhit
Head To Head
- Egypt have won both games without conceding (4-0 and 1-0). The last game was 13 years ago however.
Key Stats & Facts
- Belgium are undefeated since a loss to spain in September 2016. They have won 12 of their last 17 games. Scoring 3 or more in 4 of their last 6.
- Under 2.5 goals in 6 of Egypt’s last 8.
- Belgium 3/10
- Draw 4/1
- Egypt 12/1
Belgium should be too strong for Egypt here, especially without their key player, and the head to head won’t bother Belgium. I expect them to win comfortably without conceding here.
