Brighton v Man Utd Premier League Betting Preview
Venue: Amex Stadium
Manchester United will be looking to all but seal second spot in the top when they travel to Brighton on Friday with the Seagulls still not mathematically safe from relegation.
Jose Mourinho’s men Manchester United are five points clear of third placed Liverpool and another victory on Friday will go a long way to sealing runners-up spot to champions Manchester City.
Brighton sit 14th in the table and have a five point cushion on the bottom three in the fight to stay up and victory over United would all but secure their top flight status for next term.
Brighton will be keen to get back to winning ways having not won in six games knowing they face difficult away trips to Manchester City and Liverpool to round off the season.
United have already beaten Brighton twice this season, beating them at Old Trafford in the Premier League 1-0 before overcoming them 2-0 in the FA Cup in March.
However, Brighton have proved to be a tough nut to crack at home in their first season back in the top flight and have lost just four games all season in front of their own fans.
This will be the first top flight meeting on the south coast between the sides since 1982 which Brighton won 1-0.
Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is a major doubt for the trip to Brighton after picking up an ankle knock in last weekend’s win over Arsenal.
If Lukaku misses out against Brighton, Jose Mourinho is likely to turn to Marcus Rashford to start up front.
Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Sergio Romero are all expected to miss out as they recover from injuries.
Brighton welcome back Davy Propper following a three-match suspension and he is expected to go straight into Chris Hughton’s staring XI.
Steve Sidwell remains Brighton’s only injury absentee with Hughton having close to a full-strength squad to choose from.
Potential Brighton Starting XI: Brighton 4-1-1- formation: Ryan, Bruno, Dunk, Duffy, Bong, Knockaert, Stephens, Propper, Izquierdo, Gross, Murray
Potential Manchester United Starting XI: Manchester United 4-3-3 formation: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Young, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Rashford, Sanchez
