Bristol City v Man City Betting Preview
Venue: Ashton Gate

Bristol City shocked the viewing public by going 1-0 up at the Etihad on the stroke of half time a fortnight ago, unfortunately for the Robins a last gasp Sergio Aguero goal put Manchester City ahead in the tie. It was a deeply intriguing watch in that first leg, Lee Johnson set his troops up to stifle Man City from playing out from the back, they themselves played a good mix of short passing and going long with midfield runners to pick up the second balls. In the majority it was a tactic that worked and Johnson was rightfully praised in the media, but at the end of the day they did lose and have it all to do on Tuesday night.
Ashton Gate promises to be a raucous atmosphere under the lights and it’s import that the hosts don’t concede early and see the volume drop. They’ll want to keep this as tight as they can and try and nick a goal, easier said than done though when you’ve got Manchester coming to town. It’s important to note that away goals only count at the end of extra time should the game go to it. So if Bristol City win this one 1-0 it is not game over. This could be a tight affair in the first half but given the circumstances it could open up in the second half.
Goalkeeper Frankie Fielding will face a late fitness test after picking up an injury against Derby at the weekend, Luke Steele is an able deputy. Centre Half Nathan Baker is also 50/50 with an ankle problem.
Yaya Toure, Aleksander Zinchenko and Brahim Diaz could all feature for Man City. Vincent Kompany, Ben Mendy and Gabriel Jesus are all still out. Fabian Delph and Phil Foden are also sidelined.
