Burnley v Arsenal Betting Preview
Venue: Turf Moor
Sunday’s luchtime kick-off pits Burnley against Arsenal, with both clubs going into the match level on points. Not many expected Sean Dyche to do what he has done with the Clarets so far this season, with his team floating around the European positions. After defeating rivals Tottenham last week in the North London derby and losing to Köln in the Europa League, Arsène Wenger will have his eyes set on taking the three points so as to solidify his reputation.
A victory against the Gunners would mean a fourth straight win for Burnley, while Arsenal will want to continue to push for Champions League positions. Despite only having scored 12 goals this season, of which 6 have come from Chris Wood & Sam Vokes, Burnley’s defense is solid, having conceded a mere 9 goals. On the other hand, Lacazette has scored 6 of Arsenal’s 22 goals, but their defense hasn’t been as good as it should be, conceding a total of 16 goals.
This match will have two very different teams face each other. Burnley’s great aerial prowess will have to thwart Arsenal’s set pieces, and the Clarets would also benefit from trying to hold on to the lead if they happen to take it, seeing as Arsenal seem to be making a habit out of coming back from behind. If Dyche’s men are brave enough to create chances to exploit the Gunner’s somewhat dodgy defence, the Clarets would be put in a good position to move up all the way to 4th.
Both Tom Heaton and Jonathan Walters will be unavailable for Burnley, and Theo Walcott will also miss out due to illness.
Potential Burnley Starting XI: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward, Gudmundsson, Defour, Cork, Brady, Hendrick.
Potential Arsenal Starting XI: Cech, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Bellerín, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolanisac, Özil, Sánchez, Lacazette.
