Celtic vs RSC Anderlecht Betting Preview
Venue: Celtic Park
Channel: BT Sport ESPN
On Tuesday evening Celtic will host Anderlecht at Celtic Park in a battle to claim the 3rd spot in an unbalanced Champions League group, with both PSG & Bayern Münich having already qualified by a fair few points, leaving the only remaining place to be claimed by the other two contestants. In order for the Belgian side to snatch the 3rd spot, they’d have to better Celtic’s goal difference by winning by more than 3 goals, which is no easy task, especially when you consider the Hoops’ home prowess. Despite conceding a criminal amount of goals in the last three Champions League matches (12 goals in total), Celtic will be full of confidence going into the match, coming off a League Cup win last week and extending their domestic unbeaten run to a whopping 67 games. Anderlecht on the other hand will give it their absolute best, and they too come off a lengthy unbeaten run while sitting 3rd in the league, and their narrow defeat to Bayern in the previous game will have filled them up with belief that they can overturn the deficit. All in all, it’s a beauty of a game which will see both teams battle until the end to see who progresses through to the Europa League.
Moussa Dembélé is back from injury and will certainly get some minutes during the match, while Patrick Roberts and Anthony Ralston remain injured. Andy Najar and Emmanuel Sowah Adjei will also miss out for Anderlecht.
Potential Celtic Starting XI: Gordon, Tierney, Boyata, Simunovic, Lustig, Ntcham, Brown Sinclair, Rogic, Forrest, Griffiths.
Potential Anderlecht Starting XI: Sels, Deschacht, Kara, Spajic, Onyekuru, Kums, Dendoncker, Appiah, Hanni, Gerkens, Teodorczyk
