Croatia and Senegal will face off on Friday afternoon is the last friendly for both nations before heading to Russia for the World Cup.
Croatia will hope to gain some experience from this encounter, with a group stage game against Nigeria-another African team- on the horizon. The Balkans will also look to come back from an entertaining 2-0 defeat to Brazil, a game that Modrić & Co. play impressively in the first half, only to collapse in the second period after the return of an ever-brilliant Neymar put them down.
Senegal have had a rather uninspiring year thus far, drawing all three of their friendly matches against Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Luxembourg. The Senegalese side haven’t defeated a European team in a friendly since beating Greece back in 2010. However, the return of Sadio Mané could prove to be the key to finding their feet again before heading to Russia.
Croatia will look to dominate possession throughout the whole game, with players like Modrić, Rakitić or Kovačić being able to firmly stand their ground- but they’ll need to ensure the goals start flowing, and the same can be said for Senegal.
Both teams are fully fit.
Potential Croatia Starting XI: Subasić, Vrsalijko, Ćorluka, Lovren, Strinić, Rakitić, Brozović, Modrić, Kramarić, Perisić, Mandzukić.
Potential Senegal Starting XI: Diallo, Gassama, Kouyaté, Koulibaly, Ciss, Gueye, N’Diaye, N’Doye, Mané, Baldé, Sakho.
