- 2019/2020 Profit & Loss: -2.5pts
Wales v Azerbaijan
My first bet comes from Wales v Azerbaijan, this should be a game that Wales win fairly comfortably by a couple of goals at least but my angle for this game comes in the card market. Maksim Medvedev has been carded in 2 out of 3 qualifiers so far and with Daniel James running at him all game frustration is bound to set in with the Manchester United winger being as fast as lightning and full of confidence after scoring 3 goals already for United this term. The price for Medvedev to be carded is as high as 7/2 which surprised me being as he has been booked in 2 qualifiers already this term so this is the angle I will be going for.
Germany v Netherlands
My next bet comes from Berlin for the Germany v Netherlands game, this is going to be a tight affair and too difficult to call either way so I’m going to go for the angle of an anytime goalscorer. The player I’m going for is Timo Werner, he has made an exceptional start to the season and is thriving under new manager Julian Nagelsmann at Leipzig scoring 5 goals in his first 3 league games this season so he’s coming into the game with bags of confidence, he will have the difficult task of being up against Virgil Van Dijk and Matthijs De Ligt but his frightening pace and clever movement will cause them all sorts of problems and at a price of 6/5, I think that is a very good price given the goals he has already scored this season.
Slovenia v Poland
My final bet comes from Slovenia v Poland, where I’ve got Polish hitman Robert Lewandowski to score anytime, the Pole has been on fire scoring 7 goals in his first 5 competitive games this season. Lewandowski has also scored 2 goals in his last 4 Poland games and with him on penalty duty there’s a decent chance of him getting on the scoresheet. Slovenia aren’t a poor side but I feel Lewandowski is too clever and powerful for the Slovenian defence, as well as being good with both feet, Lewandowski is a powerhouse in the air making him a threat in numerous situations. Lewandowski is one of the most composed and clinical strikers in Europe, especially when he is in the rich vein of form he is showing currently.
