In form Everton host third place Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League lunch-time kick off on Saturday.
Everton are now undefeated in five games, winning four and drawing one, whilst Chelsea have also won four of their last five matches.
Sam Allardyce is still yet to taste defeat in charge of Everton and seems to have given the team a new lease of life, taking them from the relegation zone to ninth in the table.
Before their defeat to West Ham, Chelsea were in brilliant form and this game would have been a banker a month or so ago given how poor Everton were.
Everton’s record against Chelsea is not brilliant, winning just three of their last 12 Premier League matches against them. Chelsea have won eight of those, with just one draw and have won the last three meetings between the sides to nil.
However, given Everton’s recent successes, this game now represents a chance of continuing that form. Chelsea have looked far from convincing away from home this season and they have already lost to Crystal Palace and West Ham on their travels.
Wayne Rooney seems to be relishing his time back at his first club and is involved in most good things The Toffee’s produce. Eden Hazard is back to his best and is capable of single-handedly winning any game for the away side.
One big blow for Chelsea will be the fact top-scorer, Alvaro Morata is suspended for tomorrow’s match after accumulating too many yellow cards. This will most likely see Chelsea revert to a ‘false-nine’ formation or potentially giving Michy Batshuayi a rare start.
Alvaro Morata is suspended whilst David Luiz remains injured for Chelsea. As for Everton, no new injury issues to deal with other than the long-term ones they already have. Yannick Bolasie is getting closer to a return but is not yet ready.
Potential Everton Starting XI: Pickford; Kenny, Holgate, Williams, Martina; Schneiderlin, Gueye; Lennon, Rooney, Sigurdsson; Calvert-Lewin
Potential Chelsea Starting XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Moses, Kante, Bakayoko, Alonso; Pedro, Willian; Hazard
