Exeter v Lincoln League Two Play-Off Semi-Final 2nd Leg Betting Preview
Venue: St James’ Park
Lincoln were very unfortunate to not go into this game with a win after a decent performance against Exeter. Exeter have a remarkable record at keeping their goals conceded fairly low relative to the barrage of efforts they regularly face. Lincoln went into this two-legged tie as favourites but the bookmakers cannot now split the pair in the ‘to qualify’ market, this could be a trappy affair with so much at stake.
Exeter now have home advantage but I can’t see either team going out to attack this game from the off and that draws my eye to the even-money available on the draw in the ‘Half Time correct score’ market. I wouldn’t want to back either side in the 1X2 market, it could be one that goes all the way to extra time and possibly penalties.
Some seem to forget that Exeter lost their two star men from last season in Ollie Watkins and David Wheeler and replaced them without splashing a lot of that cash, Paul Tisdale deserves a lot of credit. Here, Tisdale will be pinning his hopes on top scorer Jayden Stockley who has at good record at their Devon base but this gritty Lincoln side will make it difficult for there counterparts.
In a game where the bookies cannot split the two in the win in 90 minutes market as well as the to qualify market I’m going to back a tight first half along with a more optimistic flutter on either team to win on penalties.
Defender Troy Brown could be back fit and available for Exeter.
Lee Frecklington and Sam Habergham should be fit for Lincoln.
Potential Exeter Starting XI: Pym, Sweeney, Storey, Moore-Taylor, Moxey, Harley, Tillson, Taylor, Boateng, James, Stockley.
