Both sides will feel under the cosh going into this London derby. Fulham for the excellent display of netting three goals last weekend and losing 2-1 without the home side Burnley having a single shot on target. Spurs will feel that the blip cam to a 1-0 loss against improving Manchester United and without Harry Kane until early March and Son on International duties in the Asia Cup, Spurs will offer opportunities to those lying in wait to fill their boots.

Team News

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is a doubt and will be handed a late fitness test ahead of the welcome of Tottenham.

Alfie Mawson, though, is ruled out with a knee problem.

Ryan Babel has joined until the end of the season, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll feature here, with Claudio Ranieri perhaps sticking with the same XI that was unlucky to lose at Burnley.

Tottenham are facing an absentee crisis in attack with Harry Kane out until March and Son Heung-Min on international duty. Fernando Llorente, who was expected to be sold this month, is set to lead the line.

Moussa Sissoko’s groin injury isn’t as bad as initially feared, though he is unlikely to be fit in time to start at Fulham, while Eric Dier is a doubt and Victor Wanyama is out. Lucas Moura will be assessed ahead of kick off as he looks to overcome a knee issue.

With Mousa Dembele sold, Mauricio Pochettino could move to a three-man defence and drop Christian Eriksen into midfield alongside Harry Winks.

Potential Fulham Starting XI: Rico, Odoi, Ream, Marchand, Bryan, Seri, Chambers, Christie, Sessegnonm Mitrovic and Schurrle

Potential Spurs Starting XI: Lloris, Vetonghen, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Trippier, Winks, Eriksen, Rose, Alli, Lamela, Llorente

The Verdict

Fulham will be seething from last weekends game scoring three goals at Burnley, who had zero shots on target, last week and still lost 2-1 as own goals from Joe Bryan and Denis Odoi cancelled out Andre Schurrle’s opener. Fulham at the cottage have lost just one in the last five and with Tottenham suffering a number of injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s visit to Fulham and they’ll be keen on bouncing back from their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Manchester United. The north London side have won eight of their last nine away league games, however, and five of their last six visits to Craven Cottage.

One might take the view that even with Spurs absences, the team should be strong enough combined to see off a victory. With their effective away record, surely, they have enough pedigree to get the job done and prove a point to the gaffer that the side does not resolve around one or two players.

Advising Spurs to win the local derby, but do not back anything under 4/5. I feel that the Asian markets may place an influence in the price Spurs head off at and may be the case that as the game draws closer, any firms offering 4/5 may simply not last. Alternatively, punters are often turning to the team they want to back in netting two or more goals as the alternative, making the 1-0 possibility vulnerable but at the same time narrowing the selection pinned down to Spurs netting two goals to see the winning bet, and at 5/6 has to edge out the Spurs win or as big as 22/25 with those having Royal Panda accounts.
