Juventus will be eager to prove themselves once more on the European stage when they face Real Madrid in Turin on Tuesday, in what is a repeat of last year’s Champions League final the the Italian side lost. However, they did manage to knock Real out in the semi-finals back in 2015, only to subsequently lose against Barcelona in the final.
Zidane’s side are on the hunt for a 3rd consecutive Champions League title- something that’s never been done before. Before returning to Turin for the first time since he left Juventus back in 2001, Zidane rested some key players before the match to ensure that he had all the players at his disposal, seeing as the league is practically over for Los Blancos.
However, Juventus are still in the middle of a title race for the first time in year, after the rise of Napoli this season. Allegri’s side beat AC Milan comfortably on Saturday, placing themselves a further 4 points ahead of their rivals.
Juventus also have the home advantage- and keeping a clean sheet could be as important as winning the game itself. The best defensive team goes up against the powerhouse in football, and even though they may not be as good as past seasons, Juve will put a fight.
Both Miralem Pjanic and Mehdi Benatia are suspended, and Mario Mandzukic is doubful.
After picking up an injury over the weekend against Las Palmas, Nacho is also doubtful.
Potential Juventus Starting XI: Bufon, de Sciglio, Barzagli, Chiellini, Sandro, Khedira, Matuidi, Cuadrado, Dybala, Costa, Higuaín.
Potential Bayern Munich Starting XI: Navas, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Casemiro, Kroos, Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema.
