Leicester v Chelsea FA Cup Betting Preview

Date: 18/03/18

Time: 16.30

Venue: King Power Stadium

Leicester take on Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals as both sides look to keep alive their hopes of silverware this season.

Chelsea come into this game off the back of their Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona, knowing the FA Cup offers them their last chance of picking up silverware this season.

Leicester are sitting comfortably in eighth spot in the Premier League and are aiming to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1982.

The two sides last met in January with Leicester holding Chelsea to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea ran out 2-1 winners at the King Power in the first meeting of the season in September.

Chelsea’s away form has been a major concern for Antonio Conte with the Blues having picked up just two wins in their last 12 games on theri travels.

Chelsea have won just once in their last five games in all competitions, while Leicester are currently on a four-game unbeaten run.

Leicester will look to the in-form Jamie Vardy to inspire them to victory with the England international having scored six times in his last eight games.

Chelsea have the better of it in the head-to-head record with the London side having never lost to Leicester in the FA Cup and only suffering one defeat to the Foxes in the Premier League during the last four seasons.

Team News

Leicester boss Claude Puel has almost an entirely fit squad to choose from with only Daniel Amartey missing with a thigh problem.

The Foxes have enjoyed a warm-weather training trip to Spain in the build-up to this game and they will be buoyed by their 4-1 win at West Brom last time out.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is expected to make changes to his side to freshen things up following their midweek Champions League defeat to Barcelona.

Willy Cabellero is likely to start in goal ahead of Thibaut Courtois like he has done in cup competitions this season, while the likes of Gary Cahill, Pedro, Davide Zappacosta and Alvaro Morata will all be hoping to return to the starting XI.

Potential Leicester Starting XI: Leicester 4-4-2 formation: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Chilwell; Gray, Iborra, Ndidi, Mahrez; Iheanacho, Vardy

Potential Chelsea Starting XI: Chelsea 3-4-3 formation: Caballero; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Fabregas, Emerson; Willian, Morata, Hazard
