Leicester v Man Utd Betting Preview
Venue: The King Power Stadium
Channel: Sky Sports Premier League/Main Event
Both sides come into this game on the back of damaging defeats. Leicester were humbled at home by Crystal Palace 0-3 in the league last-weekend, whilst United were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the Quarter-Final stage by Championship side, Bristol City, on Wednesday night.
The home side had gone four wins in a row before their defeat to Palace and took Man City to extra-time and penalties midweek in the Quarter-Finals of the Carabao Cup, before losing out in the spot-kicks.
United have lost just three times so far this season and are the second highest-scoring team in the league behind the leaders City. Defensively they are joint top in terms of goals conceded, with just 12 so are normally very difficult to break down.
United are the closest team to City at the moment and will need to keep winning if they have any ambitions of even attempting to close the 11-point gap City have built over their city rivals.
United’s record against Leicester makes for good reading. They have only lost to them once since the Foxes returned to the Premier League and that was the first meeting following their promotion. Since then United have won the last five games and drawn two of them and won both games to nil last season.
However, both teams to score has occurred in six of the last eight games between these two and United have seen over 2.5 goals in six of their last eight matches. Leicester have also seen over 2.5 goals in their past three matches.
Antonio Valencia is a huge doubt for United after being replaced injured last weekend, whilst Eric Bailly, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini remain on the side-lines. Paul Pogba returns from his three-match ban and should start.
Wilfred Ndidi returns from his one-match ban and will slot back into the starting eleven whilst Robert Huth and Matty James remain unavailable.
Potential Leicester Starting XI: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Chilwell; Albrighton, Ndidi, Iborra, Gray; Mahrez; Vardy
Potential Man United Starting XI: De Gea; Young, Jones, Smalling, Blind; Matic, Pogba; Mata, Lingard, Rashford; Lukaku
