Liverpool v Tottenham Betting Preview
Watch: Sky Sports
Liverpool’s defeat at Wembley against Spurs earlier this season was the start of a 14-game unbeaten run. The Reds beat Huddersfield 3-0 on Tuesday, putting a stop to a rot that saw back-to-back defeats. Across the last two season, Liverpool are nine home games unbeaten against top-six sides, winning five of those. They’ve been winning at both half-time in four of those five wins, and have scored inside the first 20 minutes in each of those five wins. Jurgen Klopp’s side press in a relentless manner and aim to start fast.
Spurs were impressive in their 2-0 win against Man Utd on Wednesday. But their form away at the top-six has been less impressive, they’ve lost three of three trips this season. Mauricio Pochettino’s side sat deep at Wembley, nullifying Liverpool’s counter-attacking pace. Should they do the same here, it could make for an interesting duel. Spurs come into this game on a six-game unbeaten run.
Roberto Firmino averages high for attempted tackles and fouls. He leads the Liverpool press, and looks good value to pick up a card.
Adam Lallana looks set to miss out. Virgil Van Dijk should come back in after being rested.
Toby Alderweireld, Serge Aurier and Harry Winks have all recently returned to training.
Potential Liverpool Starting XI: Karius; Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Can, Chamberlain; Salah, Mane, Firmino
Potential Spurs Starting XI: Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Dembele; Eriksen, Alli, Son; Kane
