Manchester City v Bournemouth Betting Preview
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Channel: Sky Sports
After a thrilling quarter-final Carabao Cup match against Leicester at the Kingpower Stadium, Manchester City are back to playing at the Etihad against Bournemouth, who have come from a narrow 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Man City have been in tremendous form since beating Manchester United, thrashing both Swansea & Tottenham 4-0 and 4-1 respectively.
Bournemouth on the other hand are flirting with the relegation zone, and their 16 points aren’t enough to keep them in the Premier League, and Eddie Howe will want to start winning matches again, something they’ve not done since humping Huddersfield 4-0 in mid-November.
Many wonder when City’s fine run will come to an end. Aside from Guardiola himself, the other two best managers in the league- arguably Mourinho and Pochettino- have failed to do stop the Cityzens. Not enough credit is given to Eddie Howe and what he’s accomplished with his side, but a mere 15 goals scored all season is worrisome. But such a few amount of goals isn’t so bad when you add to the fact that Bournemouth’s defence is relatively solid, having only conceded 24 times.
Guardiola’s side continues to exceed expectations, and after Saturday’s match, things will likely remain the same, unless Eddie Howe has an ace up his sleeve that’ll finally kill-off City’s run and hopefully ignite Bournemouth back to life.
Benjamin Mendy, John Stones and David Silva are all missing out due to tespective reason, whilst Vincent Kompany could possibly make a comeback after Eliaquim Mangala picked up an injury midweek. Bournemouth’s injury ward is quite full: Tyrone Mings, Jermain Defoe, Joshua King and Harry Arter are all either injured or doubtful.
Potential Celtic Starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Delph, de Bruyne, Fernandinho, Gündogan, Sterling, Agüero, Sané.
Potential Anderlecht Starting XI: Begovic, Smith, Cook, Aké, Daniels, Ibe, Gosling, Cook, Surman, Pugh, Wilson.
