Man Utd v Brighton Betting Preview
Date: 17th March
Stadium: Old Trafford
Channel: BT Sport 1
What a terrible week for Manchester United. You will struggle too see a worse performance over 2 legs than the ones the team put in against Sevilla in the Champions League knockout stages, and now the FA cup is the only piece of silver wear available to Jose Mourinho this season.
It was toxic at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, and I’d be shocked if it was any different today. It’s a very strange period for United at the minute, there has been clear progress made on last seasons performances, yet it still feels like they are being shortchanged with the players at their disposal. Alexis Sanchez will come good, but he needs to be dropped for his own sake and that of the team, whilst Paul Pogba’s confidence looks shot to bits. A cup win would be a good way for United to finish the season, but it would still feel like a disappointment overall.
Brighton have had a great debut season in the Premier League, and are more than deserving of their spot in the competition next season. In a year when teams have been paying ridiculous transfer fees for some bang average players, Brighton’s acquisition of Pascal Groß will go down as one of the signings of the season, with the German making a real mark on the league in his debut season. No one would begrudge a Wembley trip to the Seagulls, who will be looking to heap the misery on United and turn the screws on Mourinho even more.
- United are without centre backs Phil Jones & Marcus Rojo, whilst Ander Herrera and Daily Blind are both still injured.
- Anthony Knockaert is suspended for Brighton.
