Napoli v Inter Milan Betting Preview
Venue: Stadio San Paulo
Channel: BT Sport
This weekend’s stand out fixture in the Serie A is the clash between top of the table Napoli, against second placed Inter at the Stadio San Paulo.
Napoli will be looking to maintain their 100% start to the league after eight wins from eight so far this season. Inter have also gone unbeaten but are two points behind Napoli due to their dropped points away to Bologna in match-day five.
Both teams have scored plenty of goals; Napoli with a staggering 25 and Inter with 17 whilst both have conceded a mere five goals.
Inter are coming into this game off the back of their dramatic 3-2 Derby day win against Milan, in which their striker and captain, Mauro Icardi, scored a hat-trick, including an 87th minute winner from the penalty spot.
Napoli were involved in the Champions League mid-week against Manchester City, a game in which they could have taken more from had they not had a penalty saved. They showed they could mix it with the best and despite the 2-1 defeat, can still qualify for the knockout-stages.
Both sides have improved defensively so this could be a fairly tight game. However, Napoli are one of the highest scoring sides in Europe and with the likes of Dries Mertens, Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon, they are incredibly dangerous.
Mauro Icardi is another player to watch, he has scored nine goals, over half of Inter’s overall goals scored so far this season. Given a chance inside the box, he will punish the Napoli defence.
Most of the big matches in the Serie A so far this season have produced goals; Lazio 4-1 Milan, Lazio 1-4 Napoli, Inter 3-2 Milan, Roma 1-3 Inter. Goals are certainly expected but two good defences could cancel each other out, so it is very difficult to call.
Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne took a knock mid-week and is a doubt for the match but not quite yet ruled out altogether.
Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic is ruled out of the game.
Other than that, both teams are at full strength.
Potential Napoli Starting XI: Reina; Hysaj, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam; Hamsik, Jorginho, Allan; Callejon, Mertens, Insigne
