Nigeria v Czech Republic Betting Preview, Tips & Odds
Venue: Rudolf-Tonn Stadion, Vienna
This is the penultimate friendly before the World Cup for Nigeria. Gernat Rohr’s side have picked a very competitive fixture against a side similar in quality in the form of Czech Republic, however the Super Eagles have been priced up as 6/5 favourites and I’m not sure that’s attractive odds, especially as this will be played in Vienna and not at their Abuja base.
Nigeria did manage to score in their recent loss at Wembley against England and they do have dangerous players going forward with Iwobi, Iheanacho and Simeon Nwankwo who has had a great season with Crotone in Italy. Defensively though they can be a bit erratic and this Czech side should fancy their chances to grab a goal. The Nigerian players will arguably be more up for this as there is a starting birth at the World Cup at stake for the players, whereas Czech Republic will not be competing in Russia so it makes it difficult to pick a winner.
Both teams to score has been chalked up at even money and that holds the most appeal as both defences don’t fill me with confidence.
Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho could come into contention for a start here. Odion Ighalo should also lead the line.
- Nigeria – 6/5
- Draw – 11/5
Czech Republic – 13/5
