Norwich v Chelsea Betting Preview
Venue: Carrow Road
Channel: BT Sport
Chelsea travel to East Anglia on the back of some decent results over the christmas period, topped off with their performance against Arsenal which saw them concede to a last minute equaliser. Looking at the Chelsea squad, it is hard to see Conte field a seriously weakened team: their reserve players are either senior professionals who cannot seem to get a starting place and the youngsters are out on loan. Unlike rivals like City and United, their strength in depth isn’t the best, which has seemingly caused disagreements behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge.
The home side are having a troublesome season under new manager Daniel Farke, which sees them placed in the bottom half in 13th, nine points off the play-offs where I’m sure they were aiming to be a part of in August. Late on last year, The Canaries went 8 without a win but since have seemingly picked up some form and look to be going forwards rather than backwards. However, they face a tough task on Saturday as the Premier League champions will want to win more silverware and might still field a strong team. My best bet would be Chelsea to win to nil at 6/4.
Hazard and Morata are likely to be rested.
Potential Norwich Starting XI: Gunn, Pinto, Hanley, Klose, Lewis, Pritchard, Tettey, Trybull, Murphy, Maddison, Murphy, Oliveira
Potential Chelsea Starting XI: Caballero, Moses, Christensen, Rudiger, Cahill, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Willian, Pedro, Batshuayi
