Parma are at home to Lazio on Sunday afternoon as Serie A returns from an international break.
The Crociati will enter the match in red-hot form; they have won four of their past five Serie A games and are flying high in ninth place. They have recently built the Tardini to be somewhat of a fortress as they have only lost once there this season from their four games so far. They will be looking for another big scalp against a big team and this weekend is the perfect chance to do so.
Lazio, however, are in need of a win here to keep their early Champions League aspirations alive. Before the break they got back on track with a 1-0 home win against Fiorentina that was preceded by a 3-1 derby defeat to Roma and a 4-1 loss away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
This is an intriguing match as Parma’s free-flowing attack has been dangerous at times as they come up against a leaky Lazio defence. Ciro Immobile is the man to watch for the Biancocelesti as he looks to start finding the net as consistently as he did last season.
Parma are heavily depleted for the match. Former Roma man Gervinho doesn’t get to face his former arch-rival while Alberto Grassi and Federico Dimarco are also absent through injury. Emanuele Calaio is also unavailable, as he is suspended until December 31.
Simone Inzaghi has a clean bill of health for the match and has a full squad to choose from.
Potential Parma Starting XI: Sepe, Iacoponi, Alves, Gagliolo, Gobbi, Rigoni, Stulac, Barilla, Siligardi, Inglese, Di Gaudio
Potential Lazio Starting XI: Strakosha, Wallace, Acerbi, Radu, Patric, Parolo, Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic, Luis Alberto, Immobile
Key Stats & Facts
- The two teams last met at the Stadio Olimpico in April 2015 – Lazio prevailed 4-0 on that occasion.
- Parma – 5/1
- Draw – 33/10
- Lazio – 4/6
This will be an interesting game of football. Both sides have merits on how they are able to win this clash. I believe that Lazio will take the honours in the match, but Ladbrokes have what is in my opinion as the best value in the Anytime Goalscorer market. As mentioned earlier, Ciro Immobile will be aiming to start scoring more consistently and Ladbrokes have him at 21/20 to find the net at anytime.
