Roma AC Milan Betting Preview
Venue: Stadio Olimpic
Channel: BT Sport 1
In form Milan travel to the Stadio Olimpico to face top 4 hopefulls, Roma, this Sunday as both sides look to continue their charge for European football next season.
Roma sit in third place, 15 points behind Juve in second and one point ahead of their city rivals, Lazio, in fourth. As for Milan, they have had a brilliant 2018 so far, not losing a game and winning seven of their last 10, including their victories over Ludogorets in the Europa League, which saw them progress to the round of 16 stage on Thursday.
Roma were also involved in Europe this week, as they were defeated out in Ukraine to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League Round of 16 first-leg, 2-1. The away goal may prove to be a crucial one, but the travel time and disappointment of a loss could play a part come Sunday. Plenty of travelling has been done this week for them, whilst Milan played out their second-leg at home and had the luxury of resting key players after doing all the hard work in the away leg last week.
Roma’s record against Milan in the last few years does make for good reading. They have won four games in a row against them in the league and Milan have not won at the Olimpico since the 2011/12 season. Milan have won just four of their last 22 matches against Roma but will fancy themselves against this Roma side on Sunday, as they are in very good form.
Milan have conceded just one goal in their last six games in all competitions and have won the last four all to nil. This game will be a tight affair as Roma have the third best defensive record in the league and are especially difficult to beat at home. Based on form, Milan would be the best way to go here, given that their odds are 17/5.
Roma have no new injury concerns to disrupt their team selection, but Daniele De Rossi could be rested after playing the last two games in a row.
Milan welcome back Frank Kessie after he served out his one-match suspension and he will start the game.
Possible Roma Starting XI: Alisson; Florenzi, Manolas, Fazio, Kolarov; Strootman, Pellegrini; Under, Nainggolan, Perotti; Dzeko
Possible Milan Starting XI: Donnarumma; Calabria, Bonucci, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Bonaventura, Biglia, Kessie; Suso, Kalinic, Calhanoglu
