Date: 02.05.18

Time: 19:45

Venue: Stadio Olimpico

Channel: BT Sport 1

Roma’s two away goals at the end of the exciting first-leg means that the Italian side still have a chance of progression in this tie at 5-2. The bookies make Liverpool heavy favourites to qualify at 1/12 and given how poor Roma were defensively, it looks a very tall order for Roma.

Roma’s home form in the Champions League this season has been almost perfect, with four wins out of their five so far at the Stadio Olimpico. They are yet to concede at home in the competition, with five clean sheets against the likes of Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona.

Liverpool look a different proposition to those sides, however, given their incredible goal record in this competition this season. Liverpool have scored 38 goals in this seasons Champions League, most of which coming from the front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, all of which will be looking to extend their tally here.

Given Roma must score at least three to stand a chance of progression, they will need to attack Liverpool from the outset and try to replicate what Man City did to the Reds in the quarter-final second leg. Having said that, Roma were torn apart by Liverpool in the first-leg and it looks unlikely that Jurgen Klopp’s men will fail to score.

Roma to win and BTTS looks a good value bet given the circumstances and how good the Italian side are at home and that is best priced at 11/4.

Team News

Roma are missing midfielder Kevin Strootman and forward, Diego Perotti for tonight’s game after suffering injuries lately.

Liverpool are without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez but the likes of Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all expected to start the game, despite some concerns.

Possible Roma Starting XI: Alisson, Kolarov, Manolas, Fazio, Florenzi, Nainggolan, Rossi, Pellegrini, Shaarawy, Dzeko, Schick

Possible Liverpool Starting XI: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane
