Swansea v Wolves Betting Preview
Venue: Swansea City Stadium
This is a fixture neither side could do with. Swansea are deep in a battle for Premier League survival while Wolves are runaway Championship leaders. The pair drew 0-0 at Molineux earlier this month.
Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal said “it’s natural that we will make changes on Wednesday”. So we can expect rotation from the Swans, while Wolves have made changes across all cup competitions this season. We can assume Nuno will do the same here.
Wolves’ League Cup results when much changed were a 2-0 win away at Southampton, a 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers and 0-0 draw with Manchester City. Nuno clearly has his sides well drilled and structured. They look defensively sound regardless of the XI fielded. However, they left out both Ruben Neves and Diego Jota in the reverse fixture. That’s a large proportion of what makes them tick.
With Swansea’s fringe players set for a run out, they will surely be out to prove a point. The likes of Federico Fernandez, Leroy Fer, Luciano Narsingh and Wilfried Bony were only on the bench at the weekend so should come in. It may be a case of building from the back for Carlos Carvalhal and Swansea.
Mike van der Hoorn and Tammy Abraham are both out.
Ruben Vinagre is suspended.
Potential Swansea Starting XI: Nordfelt; Roberts, Fernandez, Bartley, Olsson; Mesa, Fer, Fulton; Narsingh, Bony, McBurnie
Potential Wolves Starting XI: Norris; Bennett, Coady, Hause; Doherty, N’Diaye, Goncalves, Gibson-White; Costa, Mir; Enobakhare
