Lazio travel to Udinese tonight as they search for their fourth successive Serie A victory.
Udinese come into the match on the back of a resounding 2-0 victory away to Chievo Verona. Star winger Rodrigo De Paul was the game’s man of the match with his goal and assist, as the Friuliani won their second match of the new campaign. It has been a rather impressive start for Julio Velazquez and his men and tonight they will be eager to take another step in solidifying a mid-table position.
Meanwhile, their opponents are in red-hot form. They are coming off four wins in a row across all competitions and could move into the top four with a victory in Udine. They defeated Genoa last week after a Ciro Immobile brace as the striker looks to return to the form which saw him take the Serie A’s leading goalscoring crown along with Mauro Icardi.
The Biancocelesti will be hoping for more momentum before their Derby della Capitale clash on Saturday with struggling arch rivals Roma.
Emmanuel Badu is unavailable for Udinese while Kevin Lasagna looks set to return to the starting lineup in lieu of Lukasz Teodorczyk.
Meanwhile Jordan Lukaku, Luiz Felipe and Stefan Radu are still unavailable for the visitors but Luis Alberto is expected to return to the lineup for the clash.
Potential Udinese Starting XI: Scuffet; Stryger-Larsen, Troost-Ekong, Nuytinck, Samir; Machis, Behrami, Fofana, Mandragora, De Paul; Lasagna
Potential Lazio Starting XI: Strakosha; Wallace, Acerbi, Caceres; Marusic, Parolo, Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic; Luis Alberto, Immobile
Stats & Facts
- Lazio are unbeaten against Udinese since 2014, winning eight of the nine games since.
- Their last defeat in Udine was in April 2013.
- Udinese – 18/5
- Draw – 37/13
- Lazio – 7/8
Lazio come off a 4-1 win over Genoa – they should take home the three points in this match. The return of Luis Alberto is a huge boost for the visitors, and the prospect of heading into the derby after four consecutive wins is a salivating prospect for the Laziali.
Trips to Udine could be very tricky, however, but I believe Lazio’s attack to be too potent for their opponents. Betfair are offering 15/8 odds for Over 3.5 goals to be scored in this fixture, which could very well happen should Lazio fire in this match. Ciro Immobile looks like he has rediscovered his form, so expect him to fire.
