A midweek set of fixtures are upon us, and Watford look to recover from their defeat at the hands to Leicester City, whereas Manchester City maintained their excellent form with a 3-1 victory at home to Bournemouth.
City are in pole position, two points ahead of their nearest rival Liverpool and are no bigger than 3/10 implying odds compilers give them a 77% chance of taking all the points and find it difficult to argue with that. With Watford without a win in the last four have really struggled to find the back of the net taking just one goal in the last four matches, so will find this a tricky task.
Etienne Capoue is suspended for the home side after picking up a red card at Leicester on Saturday. Adalberto Penaranda and Tom Cleverley are both sidelined while Daryl Janmaat is a doubt.
Sergio Aguero is a doubt. Claudio Bravo, Kevin De Bruyne, Eliaquim Mangala and Benjamin Mendy remain sidelines for the away side.
Potential Watford Starting XI: Foster, Femenia, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas, Doucoure, Hughes, Deeney, Pereyra, Deulofeu and Success
Potential Manchester City Starting XI: Ederson, Danilo, Otamendi, Laporte, Zinchenko, Silva, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Sterling, Jesus and Sane

When you see a side 3’s on, many thousands of accumulators are bound to feature this range of price. The stats overwhelmingly favour City in terms of the last six, as well as the contrast of recent form. With Watford without a win since the end of October, in some respects this has probably come at the right time to simply get the fixture out the way.
Comparing the stats to the present form, City are 7/5 to win the game to nil, which may appeal to some, although punters are always wary of one slip from City and the bet is history. A repeat of Saturday’s result for City with both scoring as well as the win is 8/5 with layers opting to favour both sides netting at 4/5 with a few firms.
On the handicap markets, City are 3/4 on the European handicap to win by two or more, but 11/13 on the Asian Handicap -1.5 so ever close to the even money mark. For braver punters seeing City steamrolling could go one step further on the Asian handicap and back City -2 at 16/11 with BetVictor. Basically, as long as City win by two, you will at least have stakes returned by a two-goal margin, so some insurance.
Only one of the last six meetings have City failed to win by two or more but with Watford’s goal tally drying up, I can see a two or more-scenario occurring to solidify their position in the Premier League.
