West Ham will be looking to build on their win away at Everton last weekend and face a Chelsea side who were in Europa League action on Thursday and maintain a 100% winning record coming into this game.

Chelsea are likely to dominate possession and take advantage of capitalising over West Ham’s errors in their own half. With West Ham known for their longshots and should be able to breakdown the Blues defence with a chance or two. With this being a London Derby is sure to generate a loud atmosphere at the London Stadium.

Team News

West Ham will be checking on the fitness of Marko Arnautovic, who was forced off at Everton with a knee injury and is a doubt as a result. Andriy Yarmolenko marked his first league start for the club with a brace and will surely keep his place, with Manuel Pellegrini unlikely to change a winning side if he can avoid doing so.

For Chelsea both Pedro and Mateo Kovacic have picked up injuries since last weekend and will be assessed ahead of kick-off but may not be risked. Eden Hazard was rested in midweek after all and should replace the former, while Cesc Fabregas is back fit and could make his first start of the season in midfield.

Potential West Ham Starting XI: Fabianski, Masuaku, Diop, Balbuena, Fredericks, Sanchez, Noble, Antonio, Anderson, Snodgrass, Amautovic

Potential Chelsea Starting XI: Arrizabalaga, Alonson, Luiz, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Fabregas, Hazard, Giroud, Willian

The Verdict

Expect Chelsea to be well backed at 8/13 to make it a sixth win on the spin, although punters must be reminded that the Hammers beat Chelsea 1-0 in this fixture last term and pocketed four out of the six points from the season. The head to head sees it all square with two wins apiece with two draws.

Chelsea have conceded in three of their five league games, so punters considering the 8/13 may also consider Chelsea to win and both teams to score at 2/1 with Betfred. The combined best price for both teams to score 7/10 and the match result at 8/13 skims off a shade of value for the 2/1 to be considered. Looking at the total goals price, for three or more goals is as short as 8/15, shorter than the both to score price, which is bad value in my opinion. With Chelsea at best 2/1 to win to nil combined with Chelsea and both to score generates a level stake 1/2 return, again against the both to score at 7/10 making this the better price.

Wanting a BIGGER price? I have headed to the corner markets. West Ham have been awarded four or more corners in their two home games. Chelsea have been awarded four or more in both away games and Skybet offer 5/4 on both sides to notch up four or more corners. Skybet go 4/9 for both sides to get three or more, so the 5/4 is a big jump in possible return with William Hill chalking up 21/20. Last term this fixture ended in a 6-4 score line in corners to West Ham, so has a fair chance of landing.

Take the 5/4 on West Ham and Chelsea over 3.5 corners each, as I would rather take this than best 7/10 for both to score, and even shorter 8/13 on three or more goals in the game.
