Jose Mourinho just needs a point to secure 2nd spot in the table, fans will be expecting them to wrap that up in this contest. United do have an FA Cup final on the horizon as well so it will be interesting to see if they make any drastic changes here, it’s also a short turnaround as they play host to Watford on Sunday. Mourinho always strikes me as a manager who will do just what it takes to get the job done and therefore if this one is all square after an hour don’t expect him to go gung-ho.

The Red Devil’s aren’t in fantastic form either, losing 2 of their last 4 including a poor performance in a 1-0 defeat at bottom half Brighton. I can’t get involved at odds-on quotes for the visitors here, especially as they only need a draw to secure second (Something Mourinho will make a big deal about on his post-match press conference no doubt).

West Ham have had a forgettable campaign, shoddy summer recruitment, a lack of quality on the pitch and dismay behind the scenes. Most fans haven’t taken to David Moyes but ultimately he has kept them away from the bottom 3 so it’s job done for him, it will be interesting to see if he sticks around for the 18/19 season. It’s hard to see where their motivation will be for this, but the riddance of any relegation nerves might mean they release the shackles and go for it. Moyes will surely want to put one over his former club.

Team News

Alexis Sanchez is available for Man United but Romelu Lukaku remains sidelined with an ankle problem. Phil Jones is also back for the visitors.

Former United striker Javier Hernandez hasn’t shaken off a knee problem to return and won’t be involved. James Collins and Pedro Obiang have started training and could feature.

Potential West Ham Starting XI: Adrian, Zabaleta, Rice, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku, Noble, Kouyate, Mario, Lanzini, Arnautovic.

Potential Man Utd Starting XI: De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Jones, Young, Pogba, Matic, Felliani, Lingard, Sanchez, Rashford.
