The Europa League carries on this Thursday as Wolves host FC Pyunik at Molineux.
Wolves went to Armenia in the 1st leg and brought back a convincing 4-0 lead, meaning that FC Pyunik will have to score at least four goals to have a chance of going through.
Wolves didn’t completely dominate the 1st leg but were more clinical than their counterparts, easing the pressure on the 2nd leg.
Although Wolves will be hoping to make their mark in the Premier League this season, Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t usually the type to change his team drastically so I expect Wolves to play as strong a team as possible.
One man to focus on is Raul Jimenez who has scored four goals in Wolves’ three Europa League games so far. Another key man for Wolves is Diogo Jota who came away with three assists from the first leg and will be key to Wolves creating chances.
Potential Wolves Starting XI: Patricio, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Doherty, Dendoncker, Saiss, Moutinho, Jonny, Jimenez, Jota
Potential FC Pyunik Starting XI: Dragojevic, Stankov, Zhestokov, Marku, Manucharyan, Mkrtchyan, Mahmudov, Simonyan, Efimov, Miranyan, Shevchuk
Head To Head
- These two sides have only met once and that was in the 1st leg where Wolves ran out 4-0 winners.
Key Stats & Facts
- Wolves have scored ten goals in their last four games.
- Raul Jimenez has scored four goals in his last four games.
- Artur Miranyan has scored three goals in his five Europa League appearances this season.
- Wolves 1/16
- Draw 20/1
- FC Pyunik 70/1
Wolves won the first leg convincingly and I expect them to win this game by a few goals again.
With Wolves being at home for this 2nd leg, I don’t expect them to concede and fully expect them to win this game without conceding.
Raul Jimenez has been in fine form lately and I expect him to get his name on the scoresheet again here.
