The 13th ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is set to begin on Tuesday, September 30, with England aiming to claim the trophy for the fifth time.

Only the reigning champions, Australia, have won the tournament more often, having lifted the title seven times. New Zealand are the only other nation to have won the trophy, achieving their sole victory 25 years ago. However, co-hosts India have the potential to shine on home soil and could reach the final on November 2.

The competition features eight teams, all competing in a single group, with each team playing the others once. The top four will progress to the semi-finals.

Matches will be held across four venues in India, with one additional ground in Sri Lanka.

Latest ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Predictions and Tips

Australia are clear favourites to retain their title and at 4/5 offer little by way of value in the outright market. As a result, we have to look elsewhere for attractive prices from the best cricket betting sites.

To Reach The Final: India – Evens with bet365

Home conditions give India a huge advantage, however, their reliance on Smriti Mandhana with the bat could eventually cost them.

Mandhana excelled in English conditions earlier this summer and at 5/1 is an appealing option in the top scorers market, but with a batting line-up lacking in depth, overcoming the Aussies looks one step too far for the co-hosts. With England currently out of sorts, backing India to reach the final looks a good shout.

Top Bowler: Sophie Ecclestone – 9/1 with Unibet

Ecclestone is currently the No. 1-ranked bowler in the world, but is fourth in the betting behind the Australian trio Alana King, Megan Schutt and Ash Gardner.

However, the Aussies' strength in depth may play into Ecclestone’s hands with the Baggy Greens’ stars expected to share the wickets between them.

Ecclestone’s left-arm spin is well suited to the conditions in India and Sri Lanka, as shown by her 4 for 14 in just her second match on Indian soil. Even in less favourable conditions at home over the summer, she impressed against India’s renowned players of spin, claiming five wickets across three ODIs, including 3 for 27 at Lord’s.

Top Four Finish: Sri Lanka – 11/4 with BetMGM

Australia and India look destined to make the semi-finals with ease, leaving two spots up for grabs.

England should have enough nous and experience to make it through the group stage, but there is little to separate South Africa and New Zealand in the betting for the final spot.

However, we are looking away from that pair and at co-hosts Sri Lanka to spring a surprise. With five of their seven matches played on home soil and the chance to curate the pitches to their liking, the Lionesses can spin their way to a semi-final berth.

Defeat to Bangladesh in their warm-up match is a concern, however, victories over India and South Africa earlier this summer are proof that they can cause a shock or two. With so little value on offer for the top five-ranked nations, taking a punt on Sri Lanka to spring a surprise appeals.
