England take on Australia at Holkar Stadium on Tuesday in their biggest game of the ICC Women’s World Cup group phase so far. The match sees the top two ranked WODI teams clash, and for England, they are out for revenge following a series whitewash in the Women’s Ashes earlier in the year.

The Aussies are odds-on to win the tournament outright and have been in imperious form, winning four from five (one abandoned) and in relatively comfortable fashion. Heather Knight’s side have matched them point for point so far, but haven’t beaten them in an official WODI since 2023.

It’s the hottest ticket in town, and we’ve previewed the betting markets to see where the value lies ahead of a massive game in the context of the Women’s ICC World Cup.

Bet 1: England to Win

England struggled against the Aussies in the Ashes Series. They were second best across all three formats and were well beaten in the three WODIs. But they showed huge heart in the warm-up game, winning by four wickets, and granted, it was “just” a warm-up game, but these were two teams absolutely going hell for leather to win, and England Women were more than up for the task.

The big news is that Aussie skipper and leading tournament run-scorer Alyssa Healy is missing the game with a calf injury. She’s been on fire across the opening set of fixtures, scoring 294 runs at an average of 98.00. It’s a massive blow, and the top order will have to be restructured with Beth Mooney taking the gloves behind the sticks.

Odds of 2/1 for an England win with the Australians missing their best player are too good to turn down.

Bet 2: Sophie Ecclestone to Take 2+ Wickets

Sophie Ecclestone is bowling beautifully right now. She has 10 wickets in the tournament at an average of 11.80 (2nd best) and looks in complete control whenever Heather Knight throws her the ball.

If England are going to win, they’ll probably need to bowl the Aussies out, and Ecclestone will be at the heart of the attack. She’s short at 4/7 to take 2+ wickets, but given how important she is for England, there’s just enough there to get excited about as part of the bet builder.

Bet 3: Annabel Sutherland to Take 2+ Wickets

Sutherland’s improvement with the ball has been underlined by Healy’s trust in terms of how often she turns to her, be it first or second change. In nine WODIs for 2025, she’s bowled 70.1 overs, up from 54.5 across 12 matches in 2024 and 61.0 across 13 matches in 2023. She’s now a go-to for the Aussies, and bang in form as well.

So far she’s taken 12 wickets in the tournament – only bettered by India’s Deepti Sharma with 13, playing a game more – and leads the averages at 10.16. She’s taken 2+ wickets in all four innings and priced at 4/5 to do the same on Tuesday is the value bet of the match.
