England are looking to build on their 10-wicket demolition job of South Africa in the opening round of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup as they face Bangladesh Women at ACA Stadium in India on Tuesday. Nat Sciver-Brunt’s side looked in imperious form on Friday and head into Tuesday’s game as eye-wateringly short 1/33 favourites.

England Women's Cricket Team celebrate a wicket in a 10-wicket victory over South Africa

The game is a re-run of the 2022 ICC Women’s World Cup, where England cruised to a 100-run victory in Wellington en route to the final.

Like England, Bangladesh also found life relatively straightforward in their opener, beating a toothless Pakistan side by seven wickets. However, this is a huge step up for the Tigresses, and the markets highlight just how challenging it will be to come away with a win.

Bet 1: Amy Jones to Score 30+ Runs (5/6)

We’re running out of superlatives for Amy Jones. England’s wicketkeeper may be the wrong side of 30, but like a fine wine from an Italian restaurant, she’s getting better with age, and 2025 is quickly turning into one of her best seasons yet.

In 10 WODIs this year, she’s scored 450 runs at an average of 75. Her effortless 40 not out from 50 balls on Friday was a joy to watch, and odds of 5/6 to make 30+ against a similar calibre of opponent – at least on paper – looks a good value bet.

Bet 2: Nigar Sultana to Score 10+ Runs (1/3)

If Bangladesh are to get anything from Tuesday’s game, captain fantastic Nigar Sultana will have to be at the heart of it. She, like Amy Jones, has had a superb 2025, averaging 44.62, capped with a brilliant hundred against Thailand Women in Lahore back in April.

She’s passed the 10+ mark in seven of nine WODIs this season and was the mastermind of the run chase that saw them beat Pakistan Women on Thursday. Odds of 1/3 are short, but add a nice boost to the overall bet builder.

Bet 3: Sophie Ecclestone 2+ Wickets (2/5)

Ecclestone’s slow left-arm will be a huge weapon for England Women if they are to progress in the tournament. She showed immense guile and control against South Africa, returning 2 for 19 from six overs and really put a stranglehold on their middle order.

The deck at ACA Stadium clearly suits, and with the Poms expected to wrap up all 10 wickets against Bangladesh, there’s just enough to get excited about from a value point of view at odds of 2/5.

Bet 4: Highest Match Individual Score – Bangladesh (W) Under 54.5 Runs (5/6)

Bangladesh have struggled against top-tier bowling attacks of late. In their series against Australia in Dhaka (2024), they top-scored with 27, 27, and 16, and failed to surpass 100 runs as a team in any of the three games. In the only other WODI against England, they were bowled out for 134, with a top score of 30.

England’s attack is stacked, with the likes of Lauren Bell, Linsey Smith, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean. There’s incredible depth, and they’re in top form. Under 54.5 runs for the highest individual score in Bangladesh’s side, priced at odds of 5/6, is the value play.
