Bet 1: Chalie Manby to Beat Rickey Evans
Blink, and you’ll miss this game. But what a game we have in store for Round 3 here, as Rapid Ricky Evans takes on Champagne Charlie Manby.
It’s been a proper breakout season for Manby, who’s won on the Development Tour and hasn’t looked out of place in any of his Pro Tour appearances. The 20-year-old is one of several kids who have broken through over the last couple of years (most notably a certain Luke Littler), and he’s already becoming a household name thanks to his confident on-stage demeanour.
Beating Cameron Menzies in the opening round was so impressive. He didn’t look nervous on stage at all, and he followed this up with a 3-0 demolition over Adam Sevada, cruising to 90+ averages in both games.
Getting the better of an in-form Ricky Evans will need him to up his game again. The Englishman served up a classic against James Wade in Round 2, eventually winning by sudden death in the fifth set and is throwing as well as he has for a long time.
But we’re backing Champagne Charlie to keep this run going. He’s 6/4 with BetMGM, which looks generous and is the first part of our World Championship Round 3 best bets.
Bet 2: Andrew Gilding to Beat Luke Woodhouse
Andrew Gilding has been quietly going about his business this year. He’s not the loud, brash entertainer that some of his peers exude. He just plods along, without much fuss and pings in 95+ averages game after game.
He was superb in the first round win over Chris Dobey, firing in a 99.01 average, which he backed by dispatching Cameron Crabtree with another 97+ average. Players won’t want to play Goldfinger, and we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him go out and beat Luke Woodhouse on Saturday.
Woody has yet to be properly tested. He cruised to a 3-0 win over Max Hopp and made light work of Boris Krcmar in Round 2, averaging around 90 in both games.
Gilding will be a step up, and he’s beaten Woodhouse in each of their last four meetings, so he’s good value at 9/10. He could be one to watch this year, and if he keeps flirting with those 100 averages, he’ll be very hard to beat when we get to the business end after Christmas.
Bet 3: James Hurrell to Beat Stephen Bunting
There’s always a shock result or two at this stage of the Worlds, and this game between James Hurrell and Stephen Bunting has all the hallmarks.
Bunting may be the self-proclaimed fans' favourite at Ally Pally, but his form has been poor in the second half of 2025. He’s the world number four, but he’s lost nine of his last 11 games, which is concerning for the Bullet.
There was no competition in his Round 2 game against Nitan Kumar as the big stage got the better of the Indian, but he scraped through that opener against Sebastian Bialecki and is looking vulnerable.
James Hurrell is a player on the up. He’s inside the top 64 in the world and was superb in his 3-2 victory over Dirk van Duijvenbode in the opening round. He then made light work of Stowe Buntz in Round 2, and he will be another name people will hope to avoid.
Hillbilly is a massive 19/5 to beat Bunting on Saturday, and if there is going to be a Round 3 shock on the cards, this looks more plausible than most.
