Tuesday night sees the last Carabao Cup quarter final game played for the right to line up in January’s semis. The winners of Arsenal v Crystal Palace face Chelsea next, the hosts having been to four quarter finals in six years, though they are without a final appearance since 2018.
Arsenal continue to lead the way in the Premier League after a narrow win at Everton over the weekend. The Gunners can do it in a variety of ways; six of their 20 victories in all competitions have come by three or more goals, eight by two goals and six by a single strike.
Palace will want to keep things tight early on at the Emirates. Their hitherto excellent away form was ripped apart by Leeds (4-1) at the weekend. While they may look to defend early and stay in the game, we do feel that there could be goals in this contest.
All things considered, this is how we see the predictions for Arsenal v Crystal Palace working out. The best odds this time were provided by Sportingbet, with a £10 bet potentially landing a £55 return.

Bet 1 – Arsenal to Win
Mikel Arteta’s team are a genuine force these days. The hosts are a general 8/15 shot to win over 90 minutes on Tuesday, and it’s easy to see why.
Arsenal have won 11 of their 12 home games this season in all competitions. The only failure, if you can call it that, was a 1-1 draw with Manchester City who are hot on their heels in the league.
The Gunners are rock solid at home and have no new injury worries following the weekend action. Palace on the other hand have a few players missing and a concern regarding main man Jean-Philippe Mateta. It’s hard to see the match result going any other way.
If Arteta does change the team, it’s not as though it’s only those you could describe as reserve players who are waiting to come in for Arsenal either. Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Mikel Merino, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze all began the Everton game on the bench. Any or all could come into the starting XI now.
Bet 2 – Over 2.5 Goals
Arsenal have been adept at seeing out two-goal leads, sometimes even one-goal advantages, so on the face of it, this leg of the bet comes with a slight risk. Only half of Arsenal’s home games this season would have seen this bet land, though there are circumstances here which warrant a go at over 2.5.
Arsenal are so strong that all of these goals could come from them. It’s easy to see them opening up in this match, while Palace are better than that 4-1 hammering at Leeds and will also have their moments. It’ll be no surprise if there are multiple goals in this game.
Bet 3 – Over 2.5 Cards
Stuart Attwell is Tuesday’s referee, and he averages 4.55 cards per game in the Premier League. True, this is a cup tie, but it’s a potentially feisty one, and it’s an occasion overseen by an official who isn’t exactly the most lenient.
Don’t panic if this bet isn’t close to completion after the first half: it’ll be tiring legs and frustrated souls that offer us a chance of landing over 2.5 cards, perhaps even much more than that.
Bet 4 – Over 8.5 Corners
Arsenal average just over six corners per game at home this season. For their part, the Palace average is barely four corners away from home, but that still gives us a decent base. There are team changes to take into consideration, naturally, so we’re not going too high, but over 8.5 is realistic and gives us a chance to squeeze some value from this bet.
