Even with England as firm favourites, we reckon the bookies have massively underrated the Lions, considering the roaring form they’ve been in lately, leaving plenty of value on the table. We’ve scooped it up to bring you three of what we see as the best value bets of the day, all rolled into one tasty three-fold acca that could net you £80 from a tenner. How “friendly” of the bookies, pun very much intended!

England to roar, Kane to net, Cabango to get carded, all in one cracking three-fold.

England vs Wales Bet Builder Tips

Bet 1: Winning Margin – England 2 or More Goals (4/5)

The reality of the gulf in quality between the England and Wales squads was summed up perfectly by Wales’ own manager, Craig Bellamy. Speaking to The Guardian, he said that if it were a boxing match, it wouldn’t be allowed, considering “they’ve got a transfer market value of £1.4bn, and ours is £170m.” We’re sure he meant it to fire his team up for the challenge ahead, but crikey, he’s got a point.

And it’s not all about money, it’s about results. England have been strutting their stuff in the World Cup qualifiers, unbeaten in five with 13 goals scored and none conceded. According to our “per game” goal stats, that’s an average of 2.6 goals per game. Meanwhile, Wales have just suffered back-to-back defeats against Kazakhstan and Canada. Every bit of info we’ve got points to Over 2.5 goals being very likely here, making those 4/5 odds look temptingly short-changed.

Bet 2: Harry Kane to Score Anytime (8/11)

This is the kind of market where the best bookies in the UK are backed into a corner. If you were to accurately reflect how likely Harry Kane is to score here, especially when we’re already expecting a goal fest with England leading the charge, you’re looking at an 80–90% chance. Four goals in five games, plus the simple logic that England’s top scorer is bound to bag one if they’re knocking in two or more goals? It just makes sense.

Add in the “Sub On to Play On” offer, meaning if Kane’s replaced your bet carries over to his substitute, and that’s a deal worthy of any of the best free bets or promos around. But odds that short wouldn’t draw much interest, so the bookies have no choice but to hand over the value at 4/6. Stick ’em up, lads.

Odds lengthen as Harry Kane faces ankle injury

The only fly in the ointment is that Harry Kane is a doubt for the Wales game due to an ankle issue that kept him out of training. The England caption has shown plenty of resilience in the past with injuries, and bet365 clearly aren’t too worried, only dropping the odds from 4/6, a tiny 2.1% difference in implied probability. Still, it’s worth having a backup plan. We’d say the 13/8 odds on Jarrod Bowen to Score Anytime, given he’s been flying for West Ham this season with three goals in seven matches, make a worthy replacement. That would boost the overall acca to an ample £120 on a tenner. We’d even be tempted to back both, for a potential £190 return on the same bet. Talk about tasty.

Bet 3: Ben Cabango to be Booked (8/11)

Bellamy said it himself, Wales are going to need to be operating at “full gas” to have any chance here. That’s going to mean some seriously intense work for the defenders. You won’t need our stats hub to see where this is heading (though it certainly wouldn’t hurt). Ben Cabango has played nine games for Swansea this season and been booked in three, roughly in line with what we’ve come to expect from previous years.

Add in the defensive pressure Wales will be under in this one, and the Dragon’s going to have to burn even brighter at the back, which means the chances of a booking are only going up. The bookies have it priced at under a third, which makes so little sense we might need someone to check what’s in their morning coffee. None for us, thanks, this cracking three-fold is all the boost we need today.
