Sean Dyche’s time at The City Ground has come to an end, with news breaking in the early hours of Thursday morning that he had been relieved of his duties by owner Evangelos Marinakis. As the next Nottingham Forest manager odds go live, we’re looking ahead to see who could replace Dyche and where the value lies from the early betting market.
His appointment in October was met with much optimism, replacing the departed Ange Postecoglou after one of the shortest reigns in Premier League history, lasting just 39 days. But Dyche fell foul of a similar fate, and with the club languishing in 17th and just three points clear of the relegation zone, Marinakis did what he knows best, and thanked Dyche for his efforts before producing yet another P45, his third in nine short months.
Ultimately, Dyche’s demise came from a distinct lack of goals. Forest have scored just 25 in 26 matches, and are ranked 19th in the league for attacking output. Picking up two points from fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, Leeds and Wolves was the final nail in the coffin as Forest begin their search for their fourth manager of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.

Vitor Pereira
Out of the frying pan into the fire springs to mind as Vitor Pereira leads the manager betting markets to replace Dyche. His only stint in the Premier League came from his 11 months in charge at Wolves, helping them secure Premier League safety in his first six months at the club.
But his start to the current campaign at Molinieux will have Forest fans deeply alarmed, failing to win any of his opening 10 Premier League games of the season, almost guaranteeing they won’t be a feature in the league next season.
There is, however, no smoke without fire, and he’s shot into an early favourite role, priced at 1/3 with William Hill. Pereira is well known to Marinakis, having worked under him at Olympiacos, where he won a league-cup double a decade ago.
It’s hard to look at this move as anything other than a short-term fix, and with not much to work with in terms of the odds, there’s not a ton of value here from a betting perspective.
Thomas Frank
Thomas Frank was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, which means he’s now back on the market and likely looking to return to management.
This is an interesting pick, and there have been talks online surrounding the timing of Frank’s and Dyche’s departures, curious to see if Marinakis was lining up the Dane to take charge.
He has a better Premier League record than Pereira, winning 35.4% of his games at Brentford, compared to 31.3% for Pereira. But the reality is that those numbers are still down on Dyche, whose overall win rate was 40%.
At 8/1, this looks like a more palatable bet than Pereira, but question marks will surround whether Frank wants to work with such a volatile owner.
Roberto De Zerbi
If Forest are looking to spark World War III between owner and manager, then Roberto De Zerbi will be at the top of their list. The feisty Italian has recently left Marseille after being knocked out of the Champions League and getting soundly beaten by PSG.
He has, however, expressed a desire to return to the Premier League following his time at Brighton, and has been strongly linked with taking the hot seat at Tottenham.
What happens at Spurs could affect whether this deal gets done. Neither team are flourishing right now, but out of the two, it’s Spurs who have the higher ceiling and likely more lucrative contract, which could seal the deal.
However, if they decide to go down a different route, a De Zerbi-to-Forest deal is one we could see. It will be absolute cinema when things inevitably go sour between Marinakis and De Zerbi, but we’d absolutely be here for it, popcorn in hand. Odds of 12/1 will likely shorten should Spurs go down a different route, producing a nice back-to-lay betting opportunity if nothing else.
