Wolves have finally sacked Vítor Pereira after a grim run of 10 winless games (D2 L8) that sees them eight points adrift at the foot of the table. It comes only weeks after signing a new three-year deal in September, but it has been on the cards for some time, admittedly. Saturday’s dismal 3-0 defeat to Fulham forced the board’s hand after the mood at Molineux turned toxic, and Jeff Shi decided enough was enough, handing Pereira his P45 on Sunday morning.
Attention now turns to his replacement, and the next Wolves manager market is already live with some intriguing names in the mix. Former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers leads the betting to make an almost immediate return to management after leaving Celtic Park in October. Erik ten Hag, Sérgio Conceição, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard are other notables in the early betting markets.

Brendan Rodgers – 2/1 BetVictor
The former Celtic man has shot to the top of the next Wolves manager betting market after leaving Celtic less than a week ago. He jumped before he was pushed at Celtic Park, and it was clear Rodgers’ relationship with owner Dermot Desmond had completely broken down after a scathing press release on his exit.
A return to the Premier League would be the best-case scenario for Rodgers. He’s got a good record of stabilising teams and would bring a front-foot but pragmatic approach in terms of playing style. Wolves would get an experienced firefighter in the short term and have the potential to progress the club, although short-term survival would be the immediate goal. Odds of 2/1 right now will quickly shorten should there be a sniff of a potential move for Rodgers, which at this point seems likely.
Erik ten Hag – 2/1 BetVictor
An ill-fated time at Bayer Leverkusen saw ten Hag’s time in the Bundesliga last just two games. The former Manchester United boss has been out of work since, and while his time in England was far from legendary, his resume is as good as anyone’s, and he still holds the highest win-rate of all managers who have taken over at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
It’s thought that ten Hag would be keen for a move back to the Premier League, and at 55, he’s young enough to build for long-term success. We can’t see this being a move that fans would be overly pleased about, and given the choice between him and Rodgers, the latter is undoubtedly the safer pick. Given they are both priced at 2/1, Rodgers is the play over Erik ten Hag, who we’d likely avoid for now.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær – 10/1 BetVictor
Another former Manchester United manager who has a good chance of becoming Wolves' next manager is Ole Gunnar Solskjær. The Norwegian left Turkish side Beşiktaş in August 2025 and has strong ties to the Premier League and England. He would be a great cultural reset for the club and would simplify processes for the squad, something Pereira famously overcomplicated during his time there.
The board will be aware that sacking a manager just a few weeks after signing a new deal will be costly, and hiring an unattached manager like Solskjær will be a cheaper route. His financial demands will almost certainly be less than those of Rodgers and ten Hag's, so if money does play a role in who is next, this could be a great shout at odds of 10/1.
