Wales are looking to make history over the next seven days as they attempt to secure back-to-back World Cup finals tournaments for the first time in their history. They have a tough route ahead of them, not least on Thursday, 26 March, against Bosnia-Herzegovina, and if they manage to get through, they will likely face Italy, unless Northern Ireland can pull off a huge shock in their knockout game.

Craig Bellamy’s side comes into the game in good form, having lost just twice in the qualifying group stage, both to the hands of Belgium. While Bosnia-Herzegovina won’t be a pushover by any stretch of the imagination, they are also lacking experience in the final stages, with their only World Cup finals appearance coming in 2014.

Home advantage will play a key role here and we’ve trawled the betting markets to see where the value lies ahead of this crucial World Cup qualifier.

Wales vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Betting Tips

QuinnBet, one of our best betting sites, is top price here, paying out at odds of 7.07/1. To put this into context, if you were to place the same bet with BetMGM, you would return £9 less for every £10 wagered.

Bet 1: Wales to Win

With home advantage and a real momentum around what Bellamy is trying to build here, Wales look the best value in the match result market. They’ve been superb throughout the qualifying campaign, and even in the two games they lost to Belgium, they held a really good account of themselves.

They’ve got genuine quality throughout as well, with the likes of Harry Wilson, Brennan Johnson and Dan James, amongst others. They aren’t just a one-man team, which has been a problem for Wales in the past, namely when Gareth Bale was playing.

Bosnia won’t be a pushover, and with the likes of Edin Dzeko, they have firepower that can hurt Wales. But their record of reaching the World Cup is poor, and aside from a sprinkling of quality, if you matched the two starting XI’s head-to-head, the vast majority would be Welsh.

Odds of 5/6 for a Wales win looks the value play here, and it makes up the first part of our bet builder.

Bet 2: Harry Wilson to Score or Assist Anytime

Harry Wilson has been in fine form for both club and country. The attacking midfielder has scored five and assisted twice in his last five matches for Wales. Couple this with 16 goals in 29 for Fulham, and he looks the most likely to influence this game from an attacking perspective.

He’s priced at 23/20 with the bookies to score or assist, which is just good enough to make our bet builder and, incidentally, a market we’ve also taken in our World Cup qualifiers acca for Thursday. If you wanted a little more risk to the bet, you can get him just to score at 21/10, which we wouldn’t begrudge.

Bet 3: Wales to Have Over 5.5 Corners

Bellamy has turned Wales into a real attacking threat. With players like Wilson, Daniel James, Brennan Johnson and Sorba Thomas at his disposal, they’ve scored 21 goals across their six qualifying games, which is one of the highest tallies in the tournament.

A huge part of their strategy is to get the ball wide and feed crosses into the box. In all six games, the wide areas have dominated in terms of attacking threat, and we see no reason why this won’t be the case against Bosnia.

At home, they’ve spent long periods on the front foot, and even against big teams like Belgium, they had 52.91% possession. Bosnia-Herzegovina will sit deep and look to frustrate, which feeds nicely into the corners market.

Over 5.5 team corners for Wales is the play here. It’s priced at 21/20, which we think is significant, especially as this is a line they cleared multiple times already under Craig Bellamy.
