Singapore GP: McLaren to Hit Back and Seal the Title
With Oscar Piastri leading the Drivers’ standings on 324 points and Lando Norris second on 299, McLaren still control the narrative despite recent setbacks. The MCL39 suits Marina Bay’s slow and medium corners, Norris bossed here in 2024, and McLaren are only 13 points away from sealing the Constructors’ Championship.
-
12 wins and 27 podiums for McLaren in 2025
-
Piastri leads Norris by 25 points in the title race
-
Golden chance to seal the crown before Suzuka
Woking is buzzing, and the plan is clear: get the job done early and keep the resurgent Max Verstappen at bay. Marina Bay could well be the stage for the title party.
Singapore Prediction
McLaren should make amends for the disappointing Baku result, where Piastri DNF'd and Norris placed 7th. A team win in Singapore, rather than backing an individual driver, is our preferred approach. McLaren to win the Singapore GP at 3/5 (Ladbrokes), and the Constructors Championship to boot.
Max to Continue Strong Form with a Podium Finish
Following wins at Monza and Baku, Verstappen has thrust himself back into the title conversation, but he must keep his winning run going to challenge the dominant McLarens.
Marin Bay is a track he has struggled with in the past, and the reigning world champion is unlikely to gain further ground on his title rivals. Singapore has been an awkward track for Red Bull, with Verstappen failing to win in his eight starts at the here, securing just three podium finishes to his name in that time.
-
Verstappen arrives with back-to-back wins
-
The gap to the championship leader Piastri is still large at 69 points
-
The 2025 calendar has six races and three sprints remaining
The RB21 upgrades have closed the gap, yet Marina Bay’s high downforce demands and unforgiving walls are the ultimate test. If Verstappen conquers Singapore, his title push is well and truly back on.
Verstappen Prediction
History tells us that Verstappen and Red Bull struggle in Singapore, and for that reason, we do not think he breaks his curse on Sunday. The defensive play is Verstappen to finish on the podium at 11/20 with BetMGM.
