Bet 1: Ireland vs Scotland – Under 49.5 Total Points

What a week to be a Scot! After watching most of the English football clubs get pumped in the Champions League, all of Scotland now turn their attention to the rugby as they target their first Triple Crown in 36 years.

Gregor Townsend’s side have already triumphed against England and Wales in the competition, and they also beat France last week to keep their Six Nations title hopes alive.

Next job for the Scots is to end an 11-match losing run against Ireland. It has been 16 years since Scotland last won away in Dublin, and their task of ending that run will not be made easier by a lengthy injury list.

From a betting perspective, only three of the past 11 meetings have seen 50 or more total points scored, and with a tight game expected on Saturday, we’re backing the under 49.5 points selection.

Bet 2: Wales vs Italy – Wales to Win

It wasn’t long ago that many voices in rugby called for Italy to be replaced in the Six Nations following a run of eight successive wooden spoons. Fast forward to today, and the Azzurri will finish above England if they win this weekend.

When it comes to the Welsh, they have essentially replaced the Italians as the whipping boys of the Six Nations, boasting a 0-15 record in the competition since 2023.

Bearing that in mind, you might think we’ve completely lost our marbles by backing Wales to win on Saturday but just give us a chance to explain our madness.

Firstly, Wales have shown signs of improvement. Their 26-23 defeat to a strong Scotland team in their last home outing certainly underlines that.

Secondly, Italy’s last two trips to Cardiff ended in razor-thin victories, with the home team managing to keep the score competitive.

Thirdly, Wales are priced at 6/4 in the betting, offering a lot more value than the Italians, who have been priced as the 4/7 favourites.

Bet 3: France vs England – France –12 Handicap

England made nine changes against Italy last weekend, only to face their first-ever defeat against the Azzurri and drop to fifth in the standings.

Ending the Six Nations with one win from five would be disastrous for Steve Borthwick’s side, and it could ultimately lead to a change of leadership.

France need to win Saturday’s game to secure back-to-back Six Nations titles, meaning the hosts will be at their very best at Stade de France.

That’s bad news for England’s defence which boasts the second-worst defensive record in the competition, conceding an average of 25 points per game.

With France flying and the Red Rose in the midst of a generational slump, we’re backing the hosts in the –12 handicap market.
