The Utilita Arena in Newcastle hosts the opening night of the 22nd Premier League Darts season. World number two Luke Humphries will be aiming to make a strong start to his title defence, while reigning PDC World Champion Luke Littler arrives fresh from his first Masters win in Milton Keynes and looking to reclaim the title he won in 2024. Debutant Josh Rock will also be keen to make an early statement. We have come up with some great value bets for night one.

Michael van Gerwen to finish in top two
Given the standard of play they produce on a highly consistent basis, Littler and Humphries are always going to be huge favourites. However, if one or both Lukes slip up, then Michael van Gerwen could be a great value outright bet.
Van Gerwen has won the Premier League seven times. After a disappointing PDC World Championships he began 2026 in great form before suffering an early exit in the Masters. The Dutchman will be determined to bounce back and given his experience and recent performances we think that 9/4 to make the top two at BetMGM is good value.
Josh Rock vs Jonny Clayton: Clayton to Win
Josh Rock had a great 2025 and he will be determined to start his first Premier League campaign strongly. Jonny Clayton made the quarter-final stage at the PDC World Championships for the second time over the festive period and has been selected for the Premier League for the first time since 2023. The performance of both players at the Masters means that Rock goes into this one as the favourite. However, we feel that Clayton is undervalued. His experience could be crucial, and we are backing him to find a way to win.
Luke Littler vs Gian van Veen: Over 7.5 180s
If you’re looking for a wager on this one, there is value to be found in the over/under market for 180s. The pair have met seven times over the last year and there have been 71 maximums. In total over the last 12 months, Littler has hit a frankly ridiculous 945 180s, while Van Veen has a more than respectable total of 652 over the same period. We think that 21/20 at BetMGM represents great value.
Luke Humphries vs Gerwyn Price: Humphries to Win & Over 9.5 Legs
Humphries has found his form again after a disappointing quarter-final exit at the PDC World Championships. The defending Premier League champion, Humphries had an impressive Masters tournament, finishing runner up to Littler. He is favourite to beat Gerwyn Price, however, we do not see this as being straightforward. In the 2025 Premier League, Price won three of the two meetings between the pair. We are expecting Humphries to win, but we think that Price will push him all the way. So, we are backing Humphries to take victory and the match to have over 9.5 legs.
