The January transfer window is just weeks away, and we’re going to take a look at the 10 most likely Premier League moves for 2026. For teams struggling, it’s a chance for some fresh faces and renewed hope, but for those flying, it’s often highly stressful as the big clubs come in to lure star players away.
From a betting perspective, it can be a bit of a minefield. It’s a window where deals generally get done much later than in the summer, usually down to desperation or players trying to force a move.
As we’re just a couple of weeks away from the 2026 January transfer window opening, we’ve taken a look at seven deals that could get done this year and assessed if there’s any value in the markets.

1) Mohammed Salah to Stay at Liverpool
Mohammed Salah’s bombshell interview after the 3-3 draw with Leeds, where he claimed he’d been “thrown under the bus” by manager Arne Slot, threw this market wide open. It’s clear that Salah isn’t happy with life at Liverpool right now, and we spoke about how Salah could leave Liverpool at length just last week.
But as he meets up with teammates in Morocco to represent Egypt at AFCON, the dust is starting to settle a little here. He’ll have time to cool off, and he won’t want to undo his legacy at the club by forcing a move in January.
This story will roll on throughout the window, but we’d be shocked to see him leave, and player transfer betting odds of 1/5 suggest the bookies are on the same wavelength.
2) Antoine Semenyo to Join Liverpool
A potential move for Semenyo to join Liverpool gained traction when it was leaked that he has a £65 million release clause in his contract for January. This fee drops to £50 million in the summer, so the Cherries may opt to cash in next month.
The Salah news has undoubtedly accelerated the market for this, and he’d be an ideal replacement. The fact that Liverpool’s summer business was so poor means they’ll almost certainly dip back to salvage their season, and a proven Premier League winger like Semenyo could be just the tonic.
3) Conor Gallagher to Manchester United
Manchester United is desperate for reinforcements in the middle of the park, and Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher is reportedly at the top of that list. It’s understood that this would be an initial loan with an option to buy, with the fee being in the region of £40 million.
This deal nearly got done in the summer, but clubs ran out of time to finalise. Based on that, and given that this would be a fitting move for both player and club, our confidence rating of 75 is high. Keep an eye out as the market goes live for this over the next few weeks.
4) Joshua Zirkzee to Roma
It hasn’t worked out for Joshua Zirkzee at Manchester United. He was signed from Bologna in 2024 but has scored just eight goals in 59 appearances for the Red Devils.
Ruben Amorim will be looking to offload as much deadwood as possible in January, and Zirkzee will likely feel the effects of that. Roma have been strongly linked with the Dutchman, albeit at a much lower fee than the £36.5 million Man United paid.
There aren’t any markets live yet, but this move makes sense for all parties, and we’ve slapped a confidence rating of 80 on this one.
5) Niclas Fullkrug to AC Milan
Niclas Fullkrug’s disastrous time at West Ham looks to be coming to an end as reports suggest that a loan deal with an obligation to buy to AC Milan is all but done. The German is clearly not part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans moving forward, which is understandable given he’s scored just three times in 28 appearances for the Hammers and has been plagued with injuries over that period.
The market is super interesting for this as bet365 have his move to AC Milan priced at 1/4, but William Hill are still at 4/7, which is monster value. There’s a chance this move is already done, but if not, it sounds imminent and great value, even at 4/7.
6) Marc Guehi to Bayern Munich
It’s not a matter of if Marc Guehi will leave Crystal Palace in the next six months, it’s just a matter of where. We’ve covered this transfer saga multiple times over the last 18 months, and it appears that it’s now drawing to a close.
Bayern’s representatives met with Guehi and his team back in October to try and get a deal done. There’s not been an awful lot of noise around it since, and while Liverpool are still desperate to add a CB, a move to Bayern is less likely as a result.
It’s a nice spot to be in for the Palace captain, picking between the current English and German champions. That said, if he were going to make the jump to the Bundesliga, this deal probably would have been locked down by now and given that Bayern are very much in the running for Schlotterbeck, a deal for both is unlikely.
7) Kobbie Mainoo to Napoli
Kobbie Mainoo may look for a move away from Old Trafford in January to seek regular playing time. The midfielder has struggled to break into Ruben Amorim’s side, and it’s reported that no fewer than 10 clubs are pushing for his signature.
According to the bookies, the most likely destination is Napoli, priced at 5/4. They approached Mainoo and his representatives in the summer about a potential move, which Manchester United squashed at the time.
Sky Sports reported that he’s keen for a move, and while the club will want him to stay, he needs to leave for his development. We think he will go, and Napoli are the front runners for his signature, but we wouldn’t be that surprised to see someone like Chelsea or Tottenham come in for this talented CM.
