Monday night football takes us to the South Coast for our Brighton vs Bournemouth bet builder tips, with both teams desperate to improve on an inconsistent first half of the season.
It’ll be the start of life without Antoine Semenyo for Andoni Iraola’s side, who completed his £65 million move to Manchester City last week. They head into the game buoyed by their 3-2 win over Tottenham last time out, ending an 11-game run without a win in the league.
Things have been a little more positive for Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton, who were good value for a point on the road against Man City, and are on a three-game unbeaten run of their own.
Without teasing too much, the numbers suggest Brighton vs Bournemouth at the Amex could be a classic, so let’s jump straight into our bet builder tips.

Bet 1: Brighton to Win
You could argue a case for all three results between the two sides on Monday. They’ve each had spells this season where they’ve looked strong, and then times where they’ve been completely hopeless.
It’s a funny game to call, but Brighton have actually been relatively solid at home, picking up 19 points from their 10 games. They were comfortable in their 2-0 win over Burnley and were fully deserving of their point against City.
To say Bournemouth have been erratic on their travels would be the understatement of the century. They’ve scored the second-highest number of away goals (18) and conceded the most (29). It’s hard to trust them not to fall apart at the back, so we’re taking Brighton to get all three points at 17/20.
Bet 2: Over 3.5 Goals
The Cherries have racked up some crazy numbers this season, but none more so than in their away games, where they average a whopping 4.70 goals. To put this into context, it’s almost a full goal more than Burnley in second spot.
They’ve cleared the over 3.5 total goals line in 90% of games on the road, and it starts to get really silly when you see they’ve covered over 5.5 goals in 30% of these games. The numbers are just incredible.
Brighton are a little more reserved in comparison, but still score and ship goals for fun. At home, their total goals stats have them at 2.90 per game. Granted, below our 3.5 line, but that number needs to consider Bournemouth’s insane stats, suggesting we’re onto a winner here.
The bookies are alert, though, pricing over 2.5 goals at just 4/9 – the lowest of this round of Premier League fixtures. But given the numbers, the 6/5 price for over 3.5 goals looks like a good bet.
Bet 3: Kaoru Mitoma 1+ Shots on Target
It’s been a frustrating season so far for Brighton’s Japanese talisman, Kaoru Mitoma. He’s missed 10 games of the season through injury, so seeing him back to his silky best and bagging a cracker against City was great to see and no doubt a relief for the gaffer.
So much of Brighton’s attacking play comes down that left side, and that’s a byproduct of Mitoma’s quality. He’s got minutes under his belt and is starting to look sharp again.
It could be a long night for Alex Jiménez patrolling the right side of that leaky Bournemouth defence, and 5/4 for Mitoma to get the better of the Spaniard and to have at least one shot on target is a huge price.
