We have studied the form in England’s second tier and have compiled a great three-fold with each bet being based on data. A £10 bet at SBK, one of the UK’s best bookmakers would see you get a payout of £72 if all three of our picks come in.

Our experts have used stats from Kickform when producing their tips. Let’s check out the reasoning behind them.

Norwich City vs Southampton: BTTS+Over 2.5 Goals

Norwich sit second bottom of the Championship table, with their defensive record the main reason for their lowly position. The Canaries have scored 22 in 20 matches, which betters or matches most teams in the bottom half of the table. However, they have conceded 33 times, with only rock bottom Sheffield Wednesday shipping more goals. Southampton have recovered from a poor start to climb the table. The Saints are in ninth place, one point off a playoff position.

Both teams have scored in 70% of Norwich’s matches and in 80% of Southampton’s this season. Furthermore, 50% of Norwich’s fixtures and 70% of Southampton’s have seen over 2.5 goals. We think that there will be more than three goals in this one and that both teams will get on the scoresheet.

Leicester City vs Ipswich Town: BTTS+Over 2.5 Goals

Leicester are in 13th position in the table with seven wins, seven draws and six defeats from their 20 matches, scoring 27 times but conceding 26. Ipswich have lost just one of their last five and have climbed up to fourth.

Once again, we think that the value lies in the goal markets. Both teams have scored in 70% of Leicester’s matches and in 60% of Ipswich’s games. 55% of Leicester’s fixtures and 50% of Ipswich’s have seen three or more goals. Leicester are averaging 1.35 goals per game while Ipswich are averaging 1.70.

Kickform give a 68% chance of both teams scoring and a 69% chance of over 2.5 goals. Kickform gives a 2-1 home win as the most likely outcome ahead of a 2-1 away win. We feel that three or more goals is likely and that both teams will score and that the odds at SBK are generous enough to add this to our acca.

Portsmouth vs Blackburn Rovers: Under 2.5 Goals

Portsmouth, third from bottom, host fifth from bottom Blackburn Rovers. The main reason both sides are in the lower reaches of the table is their failings in front of goal. Needless to say, we do not expect many goals in this one.

The stats back this up. Kickform’s predictions have the three most likely scores as 1-0, 0-1 and 1-1. They give a 61% chance of under 2.5 goals. 60% of both sides’ games have had fewer than three goals. Portsmouth are averaging a Championship low of 0.79 goals per game, while Blackburn are averaging exactly one goal per game. Despite their poor league position, Portsmouth have kept five clean sheets this season, while Blackburn have kept four. A low-scoring game is on the cards.
