This weekend marks the first-round proper of the FA Cup and the competition’s lowest-ranked surviving team, Malden & Tiptree of the Isthmian League North Division, travel to the Potteries to face League One Port Vale. Is a giantkilling a likely prospect? Doubtful, but we have found a tremendous bet builder at bet365 with odds boosted from 21/10 to 23/10.
FA Cup Bet Builder Tips: Port Vale vs Maldon and Tiptree
Maldon and Tiptree are currently top of the Isthmian League North Division, which, along with several other regional leagues, is the eighth tier of English football and four steps away from the football league. They face a trip to Port Vale, who are fourth from bottom of League One.
Maldon and Tiptree are ambitious. Managed by former Manchester City midfielder Kevin Horlock, the Jammers owners have invested time and money into the project. Horlock has been able to sign several players with Football League and National League experience as they look to climb the pyramid. A trip to Port Vale will still be a tough ask, however, Maldon are top of the league and full of confidence. Vale are fourth from bottom of League One and the season has been a bit of a struggle to date.
We have found a great value bet builder at bet365, one of the best UK bookies. The odds have also been boosted from 21/10 to 23/10. A £10 bet would see you bag a £33 payout should the three bets come in.

Let’s look at each leg of this bet builder. Remember, these wagers are also available as singles.
Port Vale to Win Both Halves
The Valiants may not be having the best season to date, but they have home advantage, and they are five divisions higher than their visitors. While Maldon have some good players with league experience, we expect a convincing, if not thumping, home win. We think the odds at bet365 are more than fair for this one.
Over 2 Goals
In six matches in the FA Cup qualifying stages, Malden and Tiptree have hit 16 goals. They have scored 26 in 12 in the league.
Port Vale hit four earlier in the season at home to Leeds United U21 in the Football League Trophy, showing that they are capable of finding the net. And although they have done ok defensively this season, our stats hub shows that they have the eighth best defensive record in League One; they have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last three games.
Putting all of this together we expect Vale to win fairly comfortably, but we feel that Maldon are capable of getting on the score sheet. More than two goals is a good addition to the bet builder.
Over 7 Corners
Over half of Port Vale’s matches have seen over 7.5 corners. Vale have won an average of five corners per match in the league this season and, in a match where we expect them to have a lot of territory, we think that the corner count will increase.
