We will now look at each fixture in detail to explain the reasoning behind each of our acca selections.
Go Ahead Eagles vs Aston Villa: Over 10 Corners (11/10)
Aston Villa travel to Go Ahead Eagles for a 17:45 kick off. Villa go into the tie as favourites, however, we have identified the corner market as an area to find value. 89% of the hosts’ league matches have seen over 7.5 corners, with 67% of their games producing over 10.5. All of Villa’s Premier League games have seen over 7.5 corners, with over 10.5 in 63%. The two sides have hit this number in 50% of their two Europa League fixtures.
Go Ahead Eagles have won an average of 6.56 corners per 90 minutes with Villa’s average at 5.50. In the Europa League these figures are 5.00 and 4.50 respectively. Looking at this data, we feel that bet365 have a generous price for over 10 corners, making it a great choice to begin our acca with.
Celtic vs Sturm Graz: Celtic Win and Under 2.5 Goals (10/3)
Celtic are favourites for this one, and we expect a home win. However, looking at our stats hub and looking at the two teams, we think it will be a fairly low scoring affair.
Looking at Celtic’s last five matches, four have seen less than 2.5 goals. The four matches involving the two sides in the Europa League have seen a total of nine goals scored. Sturm Graz have scored 18 and conceded seven in nine Austrian Bundesliga matches, while in the Scottish Premiership Celtic have scored 11 and shipped five in eight games. Everything is pointing to a low-scoring home win.
Nottingham Forest vs Porto: Under 3.5 Goals (1/3)
Nottingham Forest fans will be hoping for a new manager bounce on the banks of the Trent as Sean Dyche gets set for his first match in charge of the Tricky Trees following Ange Postecoglou’s short spell. Postecoglou oversaw eight matches without a win and will have their work cut out against a Porto side who sit top of their domestic league and are full of confidence.
One of Dyche’s key attributes is the ability to make his sides difficult to beat. He will have had limited time on the training ground; however, he will be looking to tighten things up. This will hardly be a new concept for the Forest players, who enjoyed success with Nuno Espirito Santo’s solid, pragmatic style. Porto will probably have too much for the home side, but we don’t see a lot of goals in this one.
Crystal Palace vs AEK Larnaca: Crystal Palace Win and Under 3.5 Goals (10/3)
We move into the Conference League for FA Cup winners Crystal Palace’s home match against Cypriot side AEK Larnaca. While Palace are strong favourites, the visitors cannot be underestimated after a thumping 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar in their previous Conference League match.
Given that Palace boss Oliver Glasner may well shuffle his pack, we are not necessarily expecting a goal-fest. More like a routine home win. We think that bet365’s price of 10/3 is good value for this.
